Good workers are unheard

Have you ever felt that you were being overlooked at work?

It feels like a demotion. Your managers and senior execs aren't listening to you.

You might have even missed out on a pay increase at your last appraisal.

This is happening to a lot of people in different industries.


Good workers are UNHEARD.


Organisations often bring in NEW outside people for larger roles. This is because you have not yet elevated your actions, acted as a leader, you are continuing to be a team member.


Often people step up as a leader after they have moved to another organisation.

They wait to change their behaviour and language once they achieve their new role and status.


When in fact, if you behaved as if you were already in the role, you would be more likely to be seen as ready for the role.


Here is a case study of how Luke in a management position became a General Manager after being overlooked and essentially demoted.


Luke was a Senior Manager in the hospitality industry and every time a new position came up and he would interview.


He would do well and receive great praises BUT......

Praise is NOT success.


This wasn't the first time he had been in this situation.


He previously had been a manager for a large team in a well-known telco and found he had similar challenges.

He knew they liked him; he would win company awards and bonuses every year.

He even had the privilege of working overseas in a new role for the organisation, but it was always a sideways move.

He was a hard worker, put in long hours, and never seemed to be PROMOTED.

And then it was happening again......

He found himself stuck in middle management.

His goal was to be the General Manager.


Luke attended our Influential Leader program and discovered:


His behaviour style- How he was being perceived by his managers and leaders.

Sometimes it takes a new perspective to see how you are being perceived.


His communication style- How his communication was being received by his team and managers and he learned how he needed to adjust his style to be more effective in any situation. He learned how to adjust his language for different audiences.


He set huge goals using our framework. Goals that were outside his comfort zone but which he did not realise he could easily achieve with new skills.


He learned how to be confident- With the support of the influential leader team, he was able to initiate difficult conversations and asked for and achieved what he wanted.


Within 4 months – success!

He was promoted and put on a development plan.
